Eye To Eye

from Amanda by Amanda Ong

about

This song was written fundamentally about disagreeing with others (my final year project group mates). And everybody has experienced disagreements at some point in their lives so it’s very relatable. It’s ironically a happy-sounding tune; as if brushing the frustrations away and putting on a happy front.

lyrics

I try to fix things step by step
Oh, but I messed up again
it looks like nothing's being done
Ooh, boy I messed up again

You don't understand me
And I don't understand why
You can barely see it when I try
Why, don't we see eye to eye

Take a look at this once more
Oh, tell me what's the matter now
I can't tell who's the one at fault
But it will be mine somehow

You don't understand me
And I don't understand why
You can barely see it when I try
Why, don't we see eye to eye

I wish to meet halfway
I’ll see you another day
Okay?

You don't understand me
And I don't understand why
You can barely see it when I try
Why, don't we see eye to eye
